Neuropsychology · Vero Beach, Florida

Most families wait for crisis. You can act while there are still choices.

Treasure Coast Cognition gives families clear answers about memory and thinking — and a plan — through Cognitive Stewardship™: expert evaluation, ongoing measurement, and steady guidance from a neuropsychologist who knows your family.

Two kinds of families call us.

Some have noticed early changes

A parent repeating questions. A spouse struggling with the bills. Nothing anyone else sees yet — but you do. These families want a clear picture now, while every option is still open: where to live, who decides, how to plan.

See the decisions still on the table →

Some are already in it

Years of symptoms. A "wait and see" from the doctor. Maybe a diagnosis — but no straight answers about what's actually happening or what to do next. We help these families move faster: a real evaluation, a plan, and coordination with your doctors.

What an evaluation covers →

Either way, the first step is the same: a baseline evaluation, done in your home.

How it works

STEP 1

Baseline evaluation

A full picture of memory and thinking, done in your home — not a 15-minute screening. You get a written report and a family meeting to walk through what it means.

STEP 2

A plan, together

What the results mean for the decisions in front of you — medical, legal, financial, family. In plain language, with next steps you can act on.

STEP 3

Quarterly monitoring

Many families continue with structured check-ins that measure real change over time. Arranged together after the baseline — no automatic renewals, no long-term contract up front.

Baseline evaluation — $3,000. A full evaluation in your home, a written report, and a meeting to share the results. This tells you where things stand today.

Cognitive Stewardship — $12,000 for six months ($9,000 if the baseline is already done). What a single evaluation can't tell you is which direction things are moving. That takes time and repeated measurement — along with a care plan, coordination with your doctors and advisors, and guidance at the decisions as they arrive. If you continue within 90 days, the baseline credits in full.

Not sure yet? Start with a conversation. You'll speak with Dr. Stoeckel directly, usually within a day. He'll tell you whether an evaluation makes sense for your situation — and if you'd be better served by a different specialist first, he'll say so and point you there.

What families say

"For anyone with a family member who is diagnosed with a form of dementia, I cannot recommend Luke's help more. This is a devastating diagnosis for any family, and having Luke's help has made a world of difference for me."

Why here, why now

Dr. Luke Stoeckel grew up in Vero Beach and returned after 20+ years studying how cognitive change begins — at Harvard, UAB, Massachusetts General Hospital, MIT, McLean Hospital, and in federal research service. Treasure Coast Cognition is deliberately small: a handful of families at a time, each known well.

By 2030, nearly a third of Florida’s population will be over 60. The tools to see cognitive change early — and do something about it — finally exist. Most families never hear about them until it’s late. That’s the gap this practice closes.
